Privacy notice

What we collect, why, and the control you have over your data.

1. Who we are

This site is operated by Spearfishing in Bermuda, which acts as the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

2. What we collect and why

  • Account data — email address and password credentials when you sign up. Used to create and secure your account. Legal basis: contract performance.
  • Leaderboard data — the name and country you submit with a score, and your scores. Used to display the public leaderboard. Legal basis: contract performance and legitimate interests.
  • Usage and device data — IP address, device/browser identifiers and basic telemetry. Used for security, fraud prevention and improving the site. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Support messages — anything you send us when you get in touch. Used to respond and provide support. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

3. Who we share data with

  • Service providers/subprocessors — hosting, database and site tooling providers.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
  • Authorities where required by law.

4. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above — for example, leaderboard entries stay while the leaderboard exists, and account data is kept while your account is active. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.

5. Your rights

Depending on your country's law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. To exercise any right, contact us and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (at most one month).

6. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect personal data.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies and local storage needed for sign-in sessions and saving your game preferences (such as your remembered leaderboard name). We do not use analytics or marketing cookies.
